Life Fitness Names Tim Wild as VP of Consumer Business

Schiller Park, Ill. (Sept. 8, 2008) – Life Fitness has promoted Tim Wild to vice president of the consumer business unit. In his new role, Tim will be responsible for the success and continued global growth of the consumer business for Life Fitness.

Wild brings four years of experience in the fitness industry to the position. Previously, Wild effectively led global planning, distribution and logistics for Life Fitness, improving service to customers while managing costs globally. Wild will be succeeded by the senior director of international business for Life Fitness, Gary Hirschel

Prior to joining Life Fitness, Tim held executive positions in operations at Baxter Healthcare, Tenneco Automotive, Chicago Faucet and Elkay Manufacturing. Tim continues a 26-year career in the military, and currently holds the rank of Captain in the United States Navy Reserve.

 Upon completion of active duty in 1990, Wild joined the Navy Reserve and has served in a broad spectrum of assignments including staff officer, strategy and plans and policy in Washington D.C., and numerous command assignments around the world. In 2007, Wild was mobilized as Commanding Officer, Navy Expeditionary Support Group, where he served in Iraq and Kuwait as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  

Wild graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also received his master’s of business administration from Chicago’s DePaul University. He currently lives in Crystal Lake, Ill. with his family.
